Common-Law Admission Test (CLAT) is one of the popular law entrance exams conducted by 18 National Law Universities (NLUs) rotationally. It is the all India level law common entrance exam for the students seeking admission in the integrated LL.B. and LL.M. programmes. CLAT 2024 exam is organised by the National University of Advanced Legal Studies. CLAT Scores are considered by various private law colleges and government undertaking colleges across the country. CLAT 2024 Merit List

  • CLAT 2024 Merit list was released on the CLAT Result day only 29th july 2024 .
  • Separate merit list was issued for UG and PG programmes.
  • Category-wise merit list is announced along with the result.
  • The merit list contains admit card number, AIR and scores(CLAT Result) of candidates
  • Merit list will indicate state as well as All India Rank of examinees.

CLAT Counselling 2024

  • Admission to UG and PG programmes in participating NLUs is done through centralized counselling organized by CLAT office.
  • CLAT counselling 2024 was commence from 29th July 2024, onwards.
  • The online counselling shall be conducted in 4 rounds.
  • Allotment of seats will be on the basis of ‘merit-cum-preference’.
  • Candidates who are selected for admission have to pay the counselling fee of Rs.  50,000/- with CLAT-2024 Office. Counselling fee will further be adjusted in admission fee.

CLAT 2024 Application Form

  • CLAT 2024 application form was filled online only.
  • The application form was released from 1st January 2024
  • Candidates have to firstly register themselves by creating a LOGIN account using an e-mail ID.
  • At the time of filling the application form, students are also required to fill the preference order for NLU’s
  • The candidates must upload the scanned copies of signature and photograph with size not more than 100 KB.
  • The university also offered the correction facility for CLAT 2024 application.
  • No hard copy of filled-in application form is to be sent to the CLAT office.

Application Fee

The application fee of CLAT 2024 is different for different categories, which are as follows:

The application fee is to be paid online through net banking/credit card or debit card. Payment can also be made through a bank challan. Rs. 500/- will be charged extra if opted for the question paper.

Eligibility Criteria

CLAT 2024 eligibility criteria define the minimum qualification requirement, percentage of marks and age criteria to appear in the CLAT exam. The eligibility for undergraduate and postgraduate law courses is given below:

For UG Integrated Courses

  • Age Criteria:  There is no upper age limit to apply for CLAT 2024.
  • Qualification Eligibility:  The candidate will be considered eligible for CLAT if he/she has passed the 12th examination with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Candidates appearing the 12th examination in March/April will also be eligible for CLAT 2024. Such candidates have to produce the proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

For PG Courses

  • Qualifying Examination:  The prescribed qualification for LL.M. is LL.B./Five-Year Integrated LL.B. (Hons.)/ any other equivalent exam.
  • Minimum Marks:  Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination should be 55% for unreserved /OBC/Specially Abled Persons (SAP). In case of SC/ST, the minimum marks would be 50%.
  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in April/May 2024 may also apply.
  • Age Limit:  No prescribed maximum age limit for PG courses.

CLAT Admit Card 2024

  • Only successful registered candidates will be eligible for downloading the admit card.
  • Admit card will be available on the website on 14th July 2024
  • Candidates don’t wait for the admit card via post or e-mail; it will be issued online only.
  • Along with the admit card, candidates must carry one identity proof to the examination centre.

  • Negative Marking:  There is a system of negative marking. 0.25 mark will be subtracted for each wrong answer.

CLAT 2024 Syllabus

UG course will cover subjects areas like English including Comprehension, General Knowledge, Mathematics (taught up to 10th class), Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning. The syllabus for PG courses includes Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and other law subjects such as Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, Environment Law and Human Rights.

CLAT Question Papers

Candidates can download the previous years’ question papers of CLAT through the CLAT website by paying Rs. 4000/-. The payment can be made in online mode only. The hard copy of the questions papers will not be provided by the CLAT office.
