The appropriate officer authorised to perform audit of the records and books of account of the signed up individual shall, with the support of the team of officers and authorities accompanying him, validate the documents on the basis of which the books of account are maintained and the returns and declarations furnished under the Act and the guidelines made there under, the correctness of the turnover, exemptions and deductions declared, the rate of tax applied in respect of supply of items or services or both, the input tax credit availed and made use of, refund claimed, and other appropriate problems and tape-record the observations in his audit notes.
GST Audit Formats
Form GST ADT– 01
Where it is chosen to carry out the audit of a signed up person in accordance with the arrangements of section 65, the proper officer shall issue a notice in FORM GST ADT-01 in accordance with the arrangements of sub-section (3) of the said section.
Form GST ADT– 02
On conclusion of the audit, the appropriate officer will inform the findings of audit to the registered individual in accordance with the provisions of sub-section (6) of area 65 in FORM GST ADT-02
Form GST ADT– 03
Where special audit is needed to be carried out in accordance with the arrangements of area 66, the officer described in the said section shall release an instructions in FORM GST ADT-03 to the registered individual to get his records examined by a chartered accountant or an expense accounting professional defined in the said direction.
Form GST ADT– 04
On conclusion of unique audit, the registered person shall be informed of the findings of unique audit in FORM GST ADT-04
