At six, Busch could drive around the Cul-de-sac of where he lived in a makeshift Go-Kart under the instructions of his father, Tom.

As a little boy, Busch matured in the family’s garage together with his older brother Kurt. Sad news reached him that he was barred from taking part due to his age as he was less than eighteen years. It came up because of the Master settlement agreement of 1998 where people under eighteen years were barred from participating in cigarette sponsored events.

Busch was replaced by Tim Woods III. After participating in a total of six games in the Track Series in 2001, he stationed at number nine for the second occurrence at IRP and Las Vegas Speedway.
