Coming to his education, he has attended the University of Michigan, from where he graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While studying there, he served as co–sports editor of the school’s Michigan Daily and was also a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He then went to study at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, where he earned a Master of Science degree in Journalism in 1994.
