Sherrod Brown, whose full name is Sherrod Campbell Brown, was born on the 9th of November 1952 in Mansfield, Ohio, the U.S. to parents, Emily Campbell, and Charles Gailey Brown. He is from a Scottish, Irish, German, and English descent. Coming to his education, he has attended Yale University, from where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian studies in 1974. During his college days, he campaigned for George McGovern during the 1972 presidential election. He then went to study at the Ohio State University from where he earned his Master of Arts degree in education in 1979 and a Master of Public Administration degree a couple of years later.

Sherrod Brown married Larke Brown in 1979, but they got divorced eight years later in 1987. Together, they have two children. She had once accused Sherrod of physical violence, but she changed her opinion years later. In 2004, he married the popular newspaper columnist, Connie Schultz and the two have been together ever since. She resigned from her position at the Cleveland Plain Dealer because she felt that being married to a politician’s wife presented a conflict of interest. Sherrod and Connie have two children.

Career
Sherrod Brown’s political career began in his senior college itself. During this time, he was recruited by a local Democratic leader to run for Ohio’s statehouse. He was successful and served as a state representative in Ohio for the period between 1974 and 1982. He was elected in 1986, as secretary of state, where his main focus was on voter registration outreach. In 1992, he won the democratic primary election.
During this time, he served as the ranking member of the Energy and Commerce Health subcommittee, where he managed to raise to get more funding to fight tuberculosis. He has served as the ranking minority member on the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Health Subcommittee and has served on the Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet and the Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection.
