At the age of 18, she married Duane Eddy, who she had met in Phoenix at the start of her singing career. They married in Las Vegas and settled in Los Angeles. In 1968, their divorce was finalized after separating for a short time.

She met Waylon Jennings in 1969, who she married and moved with to Nashville, Tennessee. Their son Waylon Albright Jennings was born on 19th May 1979.
