Agneta Åse Fältskog was born on 5 April 1950 in Jönköping, Småland, Sweden to her parents Knut Ingvar Fältskog and Birgit Margareta Johansson. Her father was a department store manager while her mother was a homemaker. She has a younger sister, Mona, who was born in 1955.
Fältskog has been interested in music since childhood, and at the age of six, she wrote her first song, “Två små troll.” She started taking piano lessons and sang in a local church choir.
