Booker T is a popular American professional wrestler, professional wrestling promoter and color commentator, currently working for WWE. Also, he is the founder and owner of the independent promotion, Reality of Wrestling, which is based in Texas. He is often remembered as one of the best wrestlers in WCW history. Early Life & Biography
Booker T, whose real name is Robert Booker Tio Huffman, was born on 1st of March 1965 in Plain Dealing, Louisiana, U.S. He was the youngest of the eight children. Both of his parents had died by the time he reached 13 years of age, and he lived with his elder sister, who was three years older than him. $ years later, he moved in with his brother, who is better known by his ring name Stevie Ray. During his high school days, he played the drum, football, and basketball as well.
Booker had spent been to prison twice, the first time because of a robbery at Wendy’s restaurant in Houston due to which he spent 19 months in prison and the second time being when he pleaded guilty to 2 aggravated robbery counts due to which he was sentenced to prison for five years. However, this time around, he only had to spend 19 months in prison and was placed on parole for the next 52 months.

Booker T married Levestia on 23rd of May 1996. Their relationship was also used for storyline purposes at the time. However, their marriage couldn’t last long and got divorced just five years later on the 8th of May 2001. He has a son named Brandon, who was born in 1984 from a relationship with his high school girlfriend.
Booker doesn’t have a great relationship with his son due to his time spent on the road wrestling for different promotions. Booker dated Sharmell Sullivan for five years before getting married to her in February of 2005. They welcomed their twins, son Kendrick and daughter Kennedy, in 2010.

Career
Before working for WCW, he was working in a storage company in Texas. He and his brother Lash went to a wrestling school that was run by Ivan Putski. His boss from the storage company sponsored to pay for his wrestling schools, and he trained under Scott Casey. He made his debut eight weeks later on Putski’s Western Wrestling Alliance Live! Program.
While working there, he was noticed by Skandor Akbar, and he went to work at Global Wrestling Federation (GWF) along with his brother Lash. He and his brother Lash (aka Stevie Ray) captured the GWF Tag Team Championship thrice during their time at GWF. Both of them went to work for World Championship Wrestling (WCW) after being recommended by Sid Vicious.
They made their debut for WCW in August of 1993 as the Tag Team Harlem Heat. Harlem Heat was able to capture the World Tag Team Championships 10 times during their time in WCW and had great rivalries with the tag team of Lex Luger and Sting and the now. The period between 2000 and 2001 turned out to be great for Booker T as he became the World Heavyweight Champion by defeating Jeff Jarrett.
Due to this feat, he became the second-ever African American champion in WCW and the 3rd African American to win a World Heavyweight Title. During his entire time with the promotion, he became the World Heavyweight Champion 4 times.
After World Wrestling Federation bought WCW, he made his debut at the King of the Ring pay-per-view in 2001 by attacking the then WWF Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin. He became the leader of the faction The Alliance during the Invasion storyline. In the period between 2001 and 2002, he became the World Tag Team Championship for the 11th time, but this time with Test.
He then began to feud with Evolution which comprised of Randy Orton, Batista, and Triple H. In the period between 2003 and 2005, he had a feud with different stars such as Christian, John Cena, and other superstars winning the Intercontinental and the US championship in the process. He achieved other notable feats during his time in the WWE and left for the wrestling promotion TNA in October of 2007. Upon his debut for TNA, he competed in a match against the team of Kurt Angle and Kevin Nash for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
He later began a feud with Bobby Roode, which ultimately culminated in early 2008. In the period between 2008 and 2010, he became a part of a group called The Main Event Mafia which comprised Sharmell, Kevin Nash, Sting, and Scott Steiner and captured other notable records. In the period between 2009 and 2010, he has wrestled for the promotions, International Wrestling Association (IWA), World Wrestling Council, and Perros del Mal. In 2011 he made his return to the WWE.
Since then, he has worked in different roles for the company, including serving as the color commentator and SmackDown General Manager. He currently serves as a pre-show panelist for different WWE branded pay-per-view events. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his brother Stevie Ray, the night before Wrestlemania 29.
