Charles Krauthammer was born on March 13, 1950, in New York City, New York. He was born to his father, Schlum Krauthammer, who was from Ukraine and his mother, Thea Krauthammer, who was believed to be of Belgium descent. He grew up with a brother, and the family spoke French in the house.
When Charles was five years old, his family moved to Montreal. He attended Hebrew Day School. Charles was a very honest student and always gave studies his first priority. For further education, he went to McGill University in Montreal and graduated with First Class Honors in both Economics and Political Science.
