CLAT Admit Card 2019

  • Only successful registered candidates will be eligible for downloading the admit card.
  • Admit card will be available on the website on 20th April 2019.
  • Candidates don’t wait for the admit card via post or e-mail; it will be issued online only.
  • Along with the admit card, candidates must carry one identity proof to the examination centre.

CLAT 2019 Exam Pattern

For UG Courses:

  • Courses:  The online examination of CLAT will be held for integrated UG law courses.
  • Mode of Examination:  Exam will be held in online mode (Computer Based Test).
  • Type of Questions:  Only objective type questions of maximum 200 marks will be asked from each subject areas.
  • Exam Duration:  The duration of CLAT exam will be 2 hours.
  • Question Paper Medium:  The language of question paper will be English only.
  • Marking Scheme:  Each right answer will be awarded 1 mark.
  • Negative Marking:  There is a system of negative marking. 0.25 mark will be subtracted for each wrong answer.

CLAT 2019 Syllabus

UG course will cover subjects areas like English including Comprehension, General Knowledge, Mathematics (taught up to 10th class), Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning. Syllabus for PG courses includes Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and other law subjects such as Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, Environment Law and Human Rights.

How to Prepare for CLAT

Due to the increase in the number of applicants, level of competition of CLAT exam has also increased.

  • Make your own strategic plan, prepare your time-table and start preparation according to that.
  • As question paper for UG course will contain General Knowledge questions, therefore, students are advised to make notes of national & international current affairs.
  • Keep yourself abreast with the latest happenings.
  • Go through the previous year’s question papers to know exam pattern and type of questions asked.
  • Prepare all the sections keeping in mind the time constraints.
  • Practicing the mock test is one of the best ways through which you come to know about the difficulty level of question paper. It also helps you to know your lacking areas.
  • CLAT has the system of negative marking so don’t make the guesses, choose only the right one.

CLAT Question Papers

Candidates can download the previous years’ question papers of CLAT through the CLAT website by making the payment of Rs. 4000/-. The payment can be done in online mode only. The hard copy of the questions papers will not be provided by CLAT office.

CLAT 2019 Answer Key

  • The authority will display the CLAT 2019 answer key on 15th May 2019.
  • The official answer key bears all the actual answers to the online examination of CLAT.
  • Candidates will also be able to submit their request in case of any discrepancy in the answer key.

CLAT 2019 Result

  • The CLAT 2019 result will be released on 31st May 2019.
  • Result will contain candidate’s rank and scores obtained in the entrance exam.
  • Candidates can view their results by entering their login details.

CLAT 2019 Cut-Off

CLAT 2019 cut-off will be determined after the declaration of results. Exam committee considers various factors for calculating the cut-off marks like difficulty level of question paper, the number of candidates attempted the exam and previous years cut-off trends.

CLAT 2019 Merit List

  • Separate merit list will be issued for UG and PG programmes.
  • Category-wise merit list will be announced along with the result.
  • Merit list will indicate state as well as All India Rank of examinees.

CLAT Counselling 2019

  • Admission to UG and PG programmes in participating NLUs will be done through centralized counselling organized by CLAT office.
  • CLAT counselling 2019 will commence from 7th June 2019.
  • The online counselling shall be conducted in 4 rounds.
  • Allotment of seats will be on the basis of ‘merit-cum-preference’.
  • Candidates who are selected for admission have to pay the counselling fee of Rs.  50,000/- with CLAT-2019 Office. Counselling fee will further be adjusted in admission fee.

CLAT 2019 Application Form

  • CLAT 2019 application form was filled online only.
  • The application form was released from 1st January 2019.
  • Candidates have to firstly register themselves by creating a LOGIN account using an e-mail ID.
  • At the time of filling the application form, students are also required to fill the preference order for NLU’s
  • The candidates must upload the scanned copies of signature and photograph with size not more than 100 KB.
  • The university may also offer the correction facility for CLAT 2019 application.
  • No hard copy of filled-in application form is to be sent to the CLAT office.

Application Fee

The application fee of CLAT 2019 is different for different categories which is as follows:

SC/ST category candidates Rs. 3500/-

The application fee is to be paid online through net banking/credit card or debit card. Payment can also be done through bank challan. Rs. 500/- will be charged extra if opted for question paper.

Eligibility Criteria

CLAT 2019 eligibility criteria define the minimum qualification requirement, percentage of marks and age criteria to appear in the CLAT exam. The eligibility for undergraduate and postgraduate law courses is given below:

For UG Integrated Courses

  • Age Criteria:  There is no upper age limit to apply for CLAT 2019.
  • Qualification Eligibility:  The candidate will be considered eligible for CLAT if he/she has passed the 12th examination with minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
  • Candidates appearing the 12th examination in March/April will also be eligible for CLAT 2019. Such candidates have to produce the proof of passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

For PG Courses

  • Qualifying Examination:  The prescribed qualification for LL.M. is LL.B./Five-Year Integrated LL.B. (Hons.)/ any other equivalent exam.
  • Minimum Marks:  Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination should be 55% for unreserved /OBC/Specially Abled Persons (SAP). In case of SC/ST, the minimum marks would be 50%.
  • Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam in April/May 2019 may also apply.
  • Age Limit:  No prescribed maximum age limit for PG courses.
