Jeffrey Loria was born on 20th November 1940 in Manhattan in New York. He was born to his parents Ruth Ost Loria and Walter J. Loria, who were both had Jewish ancestry. His father worked as a lawyer, and this them to lead a comfortable living. When he was growing up, he loved to play baseball and played his first game before the age of ten at New York Yankees.
Loria studied in New York City, where he attended Stuyvesant High School. He later went for his higher education at Yale University, where he made art history. After graduating, he was employed at an art-buying program that dealt with sears, which had been started by Vincent Price.
