Jerome Abraham Bettis was born on the 16th February 1972, in Detroit, Michigan USA. He is widely known for being an American professional football player, who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the teams Pittsburgh Steelers, and Los Angeles Rams/St. Louis Rams. His career was active from 1993 to 2006, when he retired. He is also recognized as a football analyst for NBC Sports. His nicknames are The Battering Ram and The Bus.

His first earnings came from selling cocaine with his older brother Jerome`, but his professional career began in 1993 when he decided to enter the NFL Draft that year. He was selected as 10th pick overall, by the Los Angeles Rams. Three months after the draft, Jerome signed his first professional contract in worth of $4.625 million, in addition to a signing bonus of $2 million, increasing his net worth by a large margin. In his first season, Jerome proved to be a great player, winning the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award, and he was also selected for the Pro-Bowl game.
