Born on 14th February 1971, in Quezon City, Philippines, to Benigno S. Aquino, Jr., who was a senator of Ferdinand Marcos regime at the time and Corazon Cojuangco-Aquino. She has five siblings: Aquino-Cruz, Aurora Corazon, Victoria Elisa Aquino-Dee, Maria Elena, and Benigno Simeon c. Aquino, a former Philippine President. Kris has a Kapampangan, Chinese, and Spanish ancestry. Aquino and her siblings were raised by her mother because their father was arrested and jailed.
At only seven years in 1978, Aquino was the stand-in for her father since he was a candidate in the parliamentary elections. It led to her being featured on The New York Times front page and the cover of Time Magazine. Aquino spent her elementary school days in the United States, where her family was in exile. She went to Colegio San Agustin-Makati for her high school education and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University Ateneo de Manila in 1992. Aquino’s father was assassinated when Aquino was only twelve years old.
