Early Life & Biography
Michael was born in a family headed by a single mother. A story is told of how his mother got wealthy from what people would call an error. Bette Nesmith, Michael’s mother, worked as a typist, and she was relying on frustrated by how she made a lot of mistakes as she typed. Errors made her start her work from scratch.
Funny enough, she invented the first correction fluid out of her kitchen using the family blender. Bette named the fluid ‘’ mistake out ‘’because she felt that her typing errors were no more. The fluid was then renamed to Liquid Paper. Bette then sold the liquid paper to Gillette for 165 million dollars.
Nesmith went to Antonio College, where he developed a love for folk music. He then started recording and performing his compositions. In the mid-1960s, Nesmith moved to Los Angeles to advance his career .this happened after Nesmith had spent two years in the U.S Air Force, where he trained as an aircraft mechanic at shepherds Air Force Base. Nesmith started his career right after he was out of the Air Force tour duty. He then learned how to play the guitar and also played at various bands before moving to Los Angeles with two of his friends.
