Hails from a hardworking family Haas started working from his early age alongside his studies. He distributed the newspaper, and later he also worked as a cleaner in a nearby machine shop. There he started observing the working mechanism of the different machines, and within a few months, he taught the different machining techniques. This knowledge then became the base for him in starting the Haas Automation in 1983.
