The golfer was born on the 11th of October 1989 in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. Her father “Byung-Wook Wie” worked as a professor at the University of Hawaii.
Michelle’s mother “Bo Wie” is a former golfer and model. Michelle’s parents immigrated from South Korea and came to the USA a thus Michelle had dual nationality.

Michelle Wie started playing golf when she was four. At the age of ten, she was the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship. By the end of 2006, Wie had already earned around $20 million in her rookie professional season.
