Jaggi Vasudev, who is given the name of Sadhguru by his followers, was born on 3rd September 1957 in Mysore, Karnataka. He is of Telugu descent. He had one brother and two sisters, but he never disclosed their identity. His father worked in Indian Railways as an Ophthalmologist, which made them move a lot.
He did his schooling in Demonstration School Mysore and later enrolled in Mahajana Pre-University College. He majored in English at the University of Mysore and graduated in 1973. Vasudev, however, turned to business after completing his bachelor’s degree and didn’t opt for the master’s course.

Vasudev denied all the accusations and said that it was an act of ‘Mahasamadhi.’ The police also announced him innocent.
