Career in Paramedical Services: Para-medical services involve assistance in medical profession in several forms such as Radiography, Nursing, and Occupational therapy and so on. Successful completion of any medical service or treatment requires assistance and help of paramedical professionals. Paramedical has grown in popularity and importance over time. Paramedical is a very important branch of medical science and is proved to be a milestone in communicable and non-communicable diseases as proper diagnosis is very much important to cure the patient from any kind of fatal disease and provide with proper medication and treatment. Audiology and speech therapy:

Listening and speaking are two of the major actions of human beings to communicate and make other people understand their needs. Audiology is the study related to detecting hearing disorder or inability. They use some kind of testing instruments and audiometers to measure the loudness at which a person can listen, extent of disorder in hearing and his ability to distinguish between different sounds. Speech therapists similarly use some tools or oral and written tests to detect the speaking disorders and the nature and extent of impairment.

Dental Hygienist:

They basically assist dentists in treating patients. They are trained to perform some clinical procedures that prevent dental diseases. The main job of a dental hygienist is to make and repair teeth, fill cavity and straighten teeth. They also advise patients on taking care of teeth and help dentists by taking dental x-rays of the patients.

Pharmacy:

The main job of a pharmacist is to mix, compound or dispense medicines, drugs, ointments, pills and injections. With increasing number of health care centers, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies the need of pharmacists has definitely gone up and this seems to be a good career option right now.

Nursing:

One definitely does not need to explain how popular and important this branch of paramedical is. Starting from general ward to operation theatre to critical care unit, nursing professionals play a very important role in patient care. When considering the reputation of a hospital, a lot depends on the quality, behavior and professionalism of the nurses.

Physiotherapy:

Again a very important part of paramedical is physiotherapy. It is basically a post treatment role that a physiotherapist plays. It is important in case of any physical disability, pain after injuries, post operation or dislocation. Post operation cases involve nerve injuries, heart and chest conditions, and skin conditions and so on.

Any field that is involved with medical requires the professional to be very much responsible, careful and dedicated. Some of the skills that a paramedical person should have other than this are good communication skills, ability to bring confidence in the patient, understanding the patient, team spirit, cool temperament, patience, ability to work for long hours and ability to memorize and recall scientific facts. Only and only if a person possesses these entire qualities one should think of pursuing his career in paramedical.

To get admission in paramedical courses the student must have completed his or her twelfth class from a recognized board with Chemistry, Physics, Biology and English as their subject and has secured 50% marks in each of the subjects. The courses that can be pursued by the students are:
